We're so excited to announce that the Dawn to Dawn Community Garden season is about to kick off and we'd like to invite you all to a gathering to discuss plans and potential for the upcoming year!
Meet on Tuesday April 1 from 6-8pm at the Courtenay downtown library to stake your allotment plot, learn about site logistics, and discuss the wide range of educational and community development opportunities for the site. Dianne MacLean, garden coordinator, will provide a short presentation on the site's history at 6:30.
You are invited to share this with others you think may have interest. We are looking for people and groups who would like a private allotment and we're also looking for donations of materials, labour and volunteer time.
If you cannot make the meeting and would like a plot or would like to participate in another way please let Dianne know, here cc'd. or phone her at 250 334 9574.
And do take a look at the garden if you can before the meeting! You will see some exciting changes happening on the site including clearer delineation of the leased area for gardening purposes, weed clearing and grading. Garden is located at the corner of 6th Street and Harmston Avenue in Downtown Courtenay.
You should also save the date for the first on-site garden meeting - An EasterSunday Potluck Celebration!
April 20, from 3-5pm at the garden. Bring something to share! Extra plates etc. always welcome.
