Some praises from Gaylene Rehwald... 02/23/2010
Congratulations on the recent LUSH Valley apple pie venture. The newspaper articles caught my eye and I planned to pick up a pie to take to a gathering of friends shortly after, but was disappointed to run out of time. Not to worry, as it turned out a friend had scored 'the last LUSH pie available at Edible Island'. We dug in, and the pie was a hit, from the flaky crust (made with real butter, my tastebuds wager) to the succulent filling bursting with fresh apple and cinnamon flavour that wasn't overly sweet like most commercially available pies. We all appreciated that it not only tasted great, but it served a good cause - the ongoing work of LUSH Valley and helping raise community awareness about food security. So satisfying to eat good, local food for a good cause! Congratulations on this super idea - it's a winner in every way. Keep those pies coming!
